What is an industrial switchboard?

A metallic or non-metallic enclosure in which electronic equipment is installed and there is communication between them is called an industrial switchboard. Often this compartment is designed as a closed space. Because the installation of electrical equipment in this compartment can lead to risks, to avoid these risks and possible problems, the electrical panel is designed as a closed space. Of course, in order to have an electrical panel, it is not necessary that it must be in a closed space, but observing this point increases its safety. Metalless relay

The non-metal relay or thermal relay installed in electrical panels is a very important element in the electrical equipment of industrial projects that plays the role of protection against excess electrical load and possible risks for the motor. This piece is made of two dissimilar metals that have different expansion coefficients. These metals are fully welded and pressed to each other from one side so that it is not clear that this piece is made of two parts.. The way the non-metal relay works is that when the electric current passes through it, its metals heat up and expand. Since the materials of these two metals are different from each other and one of them expands more than the other, the relay bends towards the less expanded metal. If the amount of current passing through it exceeds the standard, the relay bends so much that it breaks the circuit and then the current.

Contactor

Another electrical equipment that is used in many industrial projects is the contactor. This piece is an electromagnetic switch that can be controlled. This piece is used to disconnect and connect the power and control circuit. The task of this piece is to cut that circuit by using a current that is lower than the current of the main circuit. This is done in such a way that when a small current is sent to the contactor, it means that the internal switch of the contactor should be in the On position, and when this current is cut off, the switch should also be off. In terms of function, the difference between the contactor and the relay is that the contactor is used in places with high amperage.

Thermal Switches

Another electrical equipment that is used in industrial projects is the thermal switch. These switches, which are also called motor protection switches, are used to protect against high currents, like bimetal. Thermal switches are used to turn on and off three-phase electric motors. Like non-metal, these keys can be cut off under electric current, but due to the characteristics of their structure, these keys perform better than non-metal and provide more security.
