Everything we need to know about industrial oil and gas valves

Oil and gas valves can be considered as one of the mechanical tools that will be used to change the fluid pressure in the pipes. In fact, the function of this device is by the movement of the valve element, which is available in different shapes such as spherical, samovar, sliding, disk, etc. in this device. This issue can be considered as a basic definition of control valves, which can indicate the simplicity of this device. In a way, it can be said that this device has a body that can change the pressure caused by the passing liquid flow and contain it. In fact, this device consists of a valve to close or adjust the flow of fluid, next to a handle to adjust the position of the valve. Today, industrial oil and gas valves are used in many processes.

Different types of valves

Manual Valves: Oil and gas valves are manual, which require human resources to work in the environment for their proper operation. Control Valves: It is a type of valve that operates by using the force in the flow of liquid, gas and air. Electric Motor Operated Valves: It is another type of valve that requires electricity to control it.

The main functions of industrial valves

  1. Changing the fluid flow pressure: One of the most important tasks of this product is that it can regulate the flow of fluid through the pipes. In this section, valves have the task of preventing the flow of fluid, which will do this with an intermediate element. In common terms, this device is sometimes known as a blocking valve. It is worth noting that this function is almost the same in most faucets.
  2. Control of passing liquid: In this product, its constituent elements can control the flow of liquid and its pressure to reach the required goal. Note that this issue is practically the same in all types of ball valves, sliding valves and other cases.
  3. Changing the direction of the fluid flow of oil and gas valves: It is interesting to note that the fluid flow in the pipes can be changed to the main goal by using multi-directional valves. Tee valves are usually used in this section. It is worth noting that there are also 4 and 5 way valves, but they are used less often. In fact, the number of designed ways can be changed according to its use.
  4. Two-stage closing: in cases where the devices used by us are designed and implemented with discontinuous control type. In such cases, in order to be able to check the fluid flow correctly, we must use a two-stage control. This condition can be achieved by using 2 valves for bypass flow.

In fact, whenever 2 valves are open, the fluid can pass quickly, but if one of the valves is closed, the flow of the other valve is reduced and slowly reaches the measured level. When the 2 control valves are closed, the fluid flow will be completely cut off.

  1. Combination of fluids in industrial oil and gas valves: In cases where there is a need to combine two different fluids, 2 valves will be used that are placed on top of each other in a T shape. In such a case, these valves can be controlled using an actuator and used to mix fluids. In fact, its most important application is to achieve the desired temperature in the fluid.

Introduction of industrial control valves

In fact, it is a type of oil and gas valves, which are also known as control nozzles. This device can be considered as one of the most important products used in different industries, and one of its most famous applications is the use of control valves in oil and gas industries. It is worth mentioning that these valves are used to control operating conditions such as flow, pressure, temperature and liquid level. As it is clear from the name of this device, it can be said that oil and gas control valves are responsible for changing the fluid pressure, which is commanded by the controller. Note that the force required to open and close this valve can be designed and implemented in different hydraulic, electric and pneumatic types depending on the type of use.

All types of oil and gas industrial control valves

It is interesting to note that this product is produced in different types depending on the user’s need and use, which will generally be used in different industries such as oil and gas. The different types of these valves are:

  1. Angular control valve
  2. Globe control valve
  3. Rotary control valve
  4. Diaphragm control valve
  5. Air valve control valve
  6. Sliding cylindrical control valve
  7. Angular piston valve control valve

Type of oil and gas valves

It cannot be stated specifically. What gender are these types of products made of? In fact, the ingredients of this product can. be completely different based on the needs of users. The valves used in construction works are produced from cast iron, brass, bronze and sometimes steel, each of which provides a different beauty and elegance to the user. But in contrast to the valves that are used in various industries such as petrochemical plants, power plants, food industries and refineries in the country, depending on the type of fluid passing through it and of course the environment where the oil valves and The gas should be placed in it, it can consist of carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless steel.
